Timeless(Sonic Fanfiction)

“It's a new invention,” Tahira said happily. “With this, I'll be able to transport back in time!”
I sighed. Usually when she made something like this it meant I'd have to save her life.
“Is this going to explode like the last machine?
Her eyes narrowed and she huffed. “Of course not Mana. I've tested it a couple of times, so things should be fine.”
I blink. She's tested this weird thing out?
“Y-you've time traveled?”
“Hehe, of course.” I get up from the chair and snatch the machine from her. “H-hey!”
“Tahira, listen to me very carefully, I'm not going to let you go through with this.”
Her eyes held a mix of confusion and anger. “Why?”
“Because time travel is dangerous. Trust me, I know.”
“Oh really? How would you?”
I twitched from her question as memories of what happened between dad and I came back into my mind.
Seriously, every time that idiot had some plan to concur the world in the past or future, it usually ended up with me either saving him or trying to save the freaking world. And even when I 'beat' him, he'd always say “Soon Mana, you'll follow the footsteps of your amazing father.”
The though of just that happening made me feel suck. No way in hell was I going to be like him.
“And just one more button, and soon I'll be back in the Renaissance .”
Tahira's voice snapped me out of my little mind rant. I noticed my hands were empty as well. I looked to Tahari and my eyes widened when I saw her with the machine.
“Tahira!” I shouted.
She turned to me and smiled. “Don't worry, I'll be back before dinner.”
She would be lucky if she came back at all!
“See ya later Mana.”
Without a second thought I quickly grab her arm and try to pull her out of the vortex.
Her eyes widened with deep fear. “Mana no! This machine wasn't meant for two people! I-it'll explode and-”
But before she could even finish her sentence, both of our bodies glowed lighter and soon we vanished from the garage without a seconds notice.
